David M Hall

Numerical Physicist

Welcome to the website of Dr. David Matthew Hall.

My primary area of research concerns the development of improved numerical models of Earth's atmosphere and oceans in order to more accurately predict climate, weather, and severe weather events.

My Background

Having earned my PhD in physics with a focus on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), I became concerned with the pressing issues of climate change and decided to redirect my career toward the geosciences in order to contribute what I could toward addressing this problem. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Physics from CU Boulder in 1996, and a PhD in soft condensed-matter physics from UC Santa Barbara in 2007.
